The First Post

B., pulling Honey and Biscuit on the sled behind the tractor, which prompted my rosy cheeked Biscuit to declare "We have the BEST DAD EVER!!!!"

After hemming and hawing for the last few months, I finally decided to do it. Start a new blog. Nothing was wrong with the old one. Well, except that we're down to one crab apple tree and I don't know that it will live this year out. And since I've decided to call our homestead a farm, it's kind of a new adventure for us, so why not start out with a fresh new virtual home too? Nothing will really change either post wise. Still random, but with recipes (keeping up with a recipe blog was a pain in the patootie), and I'll probably say farm a lot more, because that word makes me s'darn happy. Farm. Farmfarmfarmfarmfarm. FAAARRRRMMMM! There. Ahem. Out of my system. Sooooo, if you keep up with me at all, make a note that I've moved and ya'll come a callin', ya hear?

  2. And from Hopestead, too! ;-)

Psst. Do you realize how much of a fright I had when I assumed the the title (*and first sentence) of your post at Crabapple Pond meant you were stopping blogging altogether?!? That was mean, Bonnie. Very, very mean. But I love you anyway.

Looking forward to following your farming adventure at your spankin' new blog!

Many years I ago my dream was to move to the country, have some property, be able to go hunt "out back" if I wanted. Also to give my little Bonnie a bedroom to herself, that she didn't have to share with her two brothers and baby sister. I wanted the little apple of my eye's room to be pink with an old style Jenny Lynne bed, and an oval braided rug just as I pictured it in my mind for years. Your room was a dream, vision, and answered prayer all in one. My prayer was answered, my vision came true {not exactly as I thought, but true none the less} We have hundreds, probably thousands of acres behind us we can enjoy, hunted there for years. We have raised LOTS of critters here, from rabbits to turkeys and all fowl in between So keep dreaming the dreams, believe in your visions, and keep praying for God's answers, He never fails!
    Love Dad
