Pizza Popcorn

I think popcorn might be the large families best friend. We ate scads of it growing up- so much so that I lost my taste for it. (Except for the carcinogen ridden, powdery, day-glo orange "cheese" popcorn. I could eat that all day long.) Enter Pizza Popcorn. Cheap and quick, this is a frequent lunch and Sunday supper (with apples and cheese) 'round here, and it's too good to keep to myself.

Pizza Popcorn

2 1/2 qts. popped popcorn (give or take)
1/3 c. melted butter
1/4 c. grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. onion powder

Pre-heat oven to 350. Mix together the melted butter and seasonings, and pour over popcorn. Toss to coat and spread in a large roasting pan or baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes.
Be nice and share

  1. Sounds like a winning combination to me! You know, a friend of mine just told me about her sunday night popcorn and icecream dinner tradition and I was like HMMMMMMMM! Popcorn and Ice cream? Popcorn, apples and cheese sounds like a close second though. Me and cheese. (It is frightening how much I love cheese.)

I about died laughing when I saw your picture. You'll see....

  2. We love this recipe, too! The only thing I do different is be lazy and not bake it. Just put the herbs/seasonings in the melted butter, and drizzle intermittently with the parm cheese :-) YUM!

    1. I've been tempted not to bake it, but automatically put it into the oven whenever I make it. Someday, maybe I'll remember!
