Just in Case You're New Here...

A quick Half-Pint Farm "history" lesson.
As far back as I can remember, I've had 2 goals: To be a wife and mom, and to have a farm. Got the wife and mom part down, now I'm working on the farm part. (Here's my Variation on a Dream post from the old blog.) And we just might be adding some more land. I try not to think about it too much, just in case it all falls through, but we'd double our land, not have to move and well, it's in the Lord's hands.
The name for our farm came about as we were flying to Mexico 10 years ago for our honeymoon. My husband had bought a Hobby Farm magazine to read on the flight down (sorry, we're just not the goo-goo eyes at each other all of the time type. Not even on our honeymoon. We do have 5 kids though, so goo-goo eyes do happen every now and again...). There was an article in it about miniature livestock and while talking about how fun it would be to have a farm of them, I mentioned we could call it "Half-Pint Farm". Fast forward about 9 years and we finally got our first chickens. 5 minutes later, B. was talking meat birds and pigs. He's hooked : D Anyway, remembering the name I'd thought up, I decided it fit. We're not a full sized farm by any stretch. Truthfully, I don't know that we'll ever have more than what we do now, but I'm learning to be content (a dairy cow would really help that though. Ahem.), and farm where we've been planted.
And now if you'll excuse me, I have bread to start and seeds to re-plant (mildew happened. I'm not thinking very ladylike thoughts right now.).
